The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing the direct day-to-day management of the field labor force and subcontractors. The candidates should have project management experience in the commercial construction field, as well as the ability to adhere to deadlines. This is a traveling position. The company works in the state of Florida and throughout the eastern part of the United States, initial travel time projected to be 75% of work a month.
The duties and responsibilities of a Construction Manager will vary at times but are not limited to the list below:
- Direct day-to-day management of field laborers and subcontractors
- Coordinate quality site inspections
- Maintain good relationships with employees and external customers, including representatives of Owner and Architect/Engineer
- Develop and maintain site logistics plan, in coordination with the VP of Construction
- Monitor costs, including labor time and material
- Communicate and enforce Safety and commitment to an injury-free environment through own actions and mentoring others
- Manage schedules, including preparation of detailed short-term schedules and ensuring all activities take place on or ahead of scheduled dates
- Prepare and submit weekly Reports
- Experience with metal buildings a plus
